I've never had any hardwood shafts. What does a shaft weigh? Will the hand tapering tools work on these shafts?

The raw shafts weigh around 600 grains. You can use any tapering tool just fine on them with a sharp blade. Use a heat gun to straighten.

Wow! That is a little too heavy for my taste, but that is a great deal.

Just orderd some, I got some a few years ago, still have all of them intact except the few I lost, toughest shaft I've ever shot. Shot one into metal 50 gallon barrel and it came out fine, still shooting it today. A few take a little extra to get straight but the durability you get is well worth it.

How do I put my favorite 11/32 broad heads on your 5/16 shaft?

They will work, just a little ledge at the shaft and head. I use Grizzly heads on all of mine with no problem.

Yancy, Do you also have other spines in stock? They sound good but I need more spine.(Or a new lighter draw bow!) I think a 40lb Black Widow PTF would love that 55 spine.
And being in the wood arrow archery business can you answer a question? With all of our ash trees dying, why aren't we seeing ash shafts on the market in huge quantities? 20 years ago I got them from  allegheny mt arrow woods and those shafts were such good shooters, weight, strength, looks, stainable it was all just right. Just wondering.
If I was at a less busy time in my life I'd try to make ash arrow shafts. Thats not gonna happen this year.

I have the 5/16 and 11/32 in all sizes 5/16 up to 60/65 and 11/32 up to 80/85

Were looking at Ash in the future but you can imagine the numbers it takes to have these in all spines and sizes! 

I have enough of these 55/60 5/16 for one or two more days and the deal is off.
