I would like to know also, you don't hear a lot about them maybe their a best kept secret. Hope you get some responses.

I believe toelke does a test drive program. I've shot the smaller Chinook and it's grest!

I was up fly fishing a few years ago and shot one at Dan's place. It's a Toelke, smooth drawing, dead stable, very quick and very quiet.

acedoc

i have one and its is a dream. smooth in draw and once you get the grip dialed in it is dead accurate. the bow  is silent and dead in the hand. i am changing my stable to all toelkes.

I missed this post back when it first rolled around. I love my Toelke SS. It's butter smooth all the way through my 33" draw. It has very little noise at the shot, though perhaps more than his longbows do. I find it to be quick and well mannered, but my long draw makes any bow seem faster. It's dead in the hand with a bow quiver. I haven't shot it without the quiver.

Oh, yeah... it's accurate, and drop dead gorgeous.

"my long draw makes any bow seem faster"

If your drawing 5 inches more than most of us more speed isn't just a sensation, it's real..... :bigsmyl:

Oh, that reminds me... I need to update my signature! I found out my draw length is only 32" after a bunch of form improvements last fall.

For the SS, I believe they may make one with a touch longer riser for draws up to 30". You'll have to ask Jared or Dan but I think they do. Otherwise draw on that bad boy is smooth till the cows come home for those loooooong draws!

I own the ss and the whip - after shooting the whip for a month plus and the ss for a year plus my vote goes to the SS Recurve as the better of the two.
The whip feels smoother and quite but the recurve is more accurate (for me). Not that there is a whole lot of difference but enough for me to notice. The heavy mass of the recurve may also make a difference.

I will post a strung length of my recurve a 64 incher later today

Yes, the 64 incher length.   Thanks

I think a lot depends on you draw length.  The SS looks to be geared more to longer draws.  I just order one of Dans and after some discussion I went with the Chinook.  A bit faster design.

Yes,  that Chinook looks nice,  but my 31+ draw is too long for it,  per Toelke's web.

I don't know the actual length off the top of my head, but it's equal to a 62" Toelke Whip, so 58"-59"?
