I know it's still a little early for many, but I'm kinda surprised no one has started this thread yet.
Normally, I don't start shed hunting until I'm pretty sure all, or at least most, of the bucks in my area have dropped.
This year was a little different as there was one buck in particular that I wanted to find the sheds from. Trail cams revealed that he dropped both sides about a week ago. As soon as I knew he shed, it was game on. I've spent every spare minute outside of work and family obligations logging miles in the woods.
After several days I had managed to find these smaller eights and a spike. However, the sheds I was after continued to elude me.
Apparently I need to look right more, as all I'm finding is left sides :biglaugh:

Then on Tuesday I had a couple hours after work before I had to be at my boys basketball game.
So off to the woods I went. JACKPOT!!!

Sometimes it's hard to judge the size of sheds in a pic. So here's a pic of him from earlier this year.

Found this one last weekend, first time I've made it out . Lost my shed hunting buddy last fall. That combined with all the people coming in from the state east of me running everything has kinda killed my will to get out and look.

I hope he's still a good one this fall.   I believe my boy skipped an arrow off his back in 13' as a 2.5yr old and I shot right underneath him in 18'. I'm nearly positive it's the same buck, so he was 8.5yrs old this year and will be 9.5 this coming season.  :o

That's a dandy bvas.  I have one that I've been after for quite some time that will be 9.5 this coming season as well.  Water is too high for me to go look for his sheds right now, but I'll be after them as soon as it goes down.

Took a quick walk last weekend on some public I hunt. Most bucks are still holding but I wanted to get in here before the droves of shed hunters. Found a nice one 5 minutes in. A little later I found a really big dead head in a bedding area I know a few good bucks frequent. It's a shame he didn't make it, but I'm glad I was the one who found him

Some great finds so far! I need to get out.

It's getting about that time when I start putting in some serious miles looking for sheds.
I have made it out for a couple short walks the past couple weeks and found a couple sheds from previous years. The mostly intact one is from last year, but no idea on the other piece.

Found this small one today. Kind of cool that it sat almost backwards on his head

Great finds guys. I've logged about 2 miles but none found. I know a few are still carrying.  I hope to get to our farm in S Wisconsin.  I know success will be easier there.

6" of new snow here this AM on top of a 12" base.
Shed hunting on hold for the time being.  I like the bare ground look...

Only made  it out once, snow pack to much yet, but found this near the house.  Not huge but has a nice shape.

I've found nada (rather find em on a deer), but my buddy who is a shed hunting animal has about 15 on a table in his garage.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
