Started down this path just a few weeks ago. Been in the shop every day. Just a final sanding and finished yet to go. A few bumps in the road but Im beyond words at the satisfaction of turning out #1. Much thanks to kenny for enduring my questions. And to everyone else here who have offered suggestions and advice.
In the end I found the process intimidating, but not near as hard as I imagined.
Heres a few pics after sanding at 180 grit.
Addiction as I have named this bow, is close to done. Not sure on exact weight scale with be here tomorrow. Can't wait to strap on my snowshoes,  string her up and go hunt some white bunnies.

Got danish oil rubbed in and hung her up with friends for oil to cure. 3-4 days then spray on finish.

One lil thing I forgot to mention about this bow. The walnut tip and handle overlays came from a walnut board I found in my Dads basement shop afer he passed away 11 yrs ago. Ive hauled it around through 3 moves, waiting for the time to use some of it. It wasnt thick enough for a riser block but can be used for other pieces. I used many tools of his while building the bow, his workbench, and my Grandpas bench vise. Gives the bow a lot of special meaning to me. Im sure Pops would like it. He was not an archer but loved workin with woods.
