It is with deep regret that on behalf of the family of Steven Catts, aka Leathersmith, I am sharing the news of his passing from this life on Wednesday, December 18. Steve was well know for the outstanding quality of his crafting of fine leather quivers and other products for the archery and shooting sports. Please remember his family during this time of grief.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Jackdaw, I got the very first sidekick quiver Steve made.  He lived about 45 minutes from me and I described the sort of thing I was wanting and left the details to Steve. Steve called me one day to tell me it was ready.  When I saw the sidekick, it was exactly what I had in mind.  A true artist with leather.

I have several items that Steve made.  He made things to last beyond a lifetime.  God bless him, he will be missed.
