Yeah you really never know what a piece of wood will look like until the resin cures. Most times it is better.

Where did you source that red diamondwood.

Red diamondwood from The Rosewood shop
. It is imported but they cut the width you need. best to ask for lengthwise then you have some left for another riser. It is all 2 in. thick.

Well I was looking at this pic and not seeing the flat spot finally. Hmm say you lost a couple FPS ? Is that a crack in the end of the riser there? maybe thats it.

Looks like most of the bend is right at the handle. Get it to floor tiller stage first. You might have to bring the limbs around to line up being that the thickness of the handle would be almost impossible to straighten.

Pat I probably should have posted better pics there is a lot of lateral bend in the upper mid/outers but its going to have 8" leavers to but I should be able to reflex & laterally straiten on the caul at the same time I have a lot of areas to play with , should be able to get the string dead lined up I hope ! That is when I get it thined down all the deflex is in one leaver so that will be a non issue to straiten with Eiffel tower leavers ! I guess Im on the natural bow kick for winter  :knothead:

You can add reflex and straighten it laterally at the same time. I've done it many times and a lot more than that.

What did I do today? Got a root canal. I'll be honest, I think I'd rather shovel snow.

Used the bucket of junk method & heat gun to get some lateral bend out, the rest I will do on a caul but got the string tracking inside the handle before and after pics !
