Didn't take any pictures, to busy shooting. Weather was a Non Humid 70s. I really enjoy coming to this shoot, i usually see or meet Trad gang members. Awesome 3d courses in some beautiful scenery. Very generous vendors and respectful trad archers. Heck you can meet the ambassadors of our sport. Oh yeah, this Barry Wensel fella is usually around somewhere! See ya next year Terry.

The weather- absolutely gorgeous weather wed-sat. Slight rain this morning but it just wouldn't be ETAR without some precipitation.

As always- great time and my pockets came home almost empty!! Lol
My son said to me - "dad - thanks so much for bringing me."
That's all I need!

No pics sorry. The first thing you missed was the best weather ETAR has seen in a long time. Last year was very wet, this year was absolutely perfect. The setting is some of Pennsylvania's most beautiful country (in my opinion). It all takes place at a small ski area called Denton Hill. A lot of the archers camp for the week or weekend, and so between the mix of tents and woodsmoke smells, the atmosphere alone brings you back to a traditional way of life!!  There are a hundred or so vendors under four large tents..(including Big Jim's tent).
There are eight different courses, including the kids course. The courses were excellent. The target set ups were very realistic. My wife and I shot every course except the kids course.  Some courses were difficult in regards to terrain and others were not! It's a great mix and there is a course for everyone.
From Asbell  to Wenzel the vendor mix was great. The bowyers were very accommodating , giving you free rein to shoot whatever you want. They really make you feel they are there for you.
Every year I go I make new friends it's a place where can leave your car unlocked, let your kids run free and leave your bow leaning against a tree and not worry about a thing. If you can't tell I love ETAR it's almost more fun then hunting itself.

Never go back the way you came

I'll try to post some pics later. Just got home (7 hour drive).

Shot every course plus did the coon shoot. Great time. Most of my money was spent on arrows. The wife and I took our granddaughter and her boyfriend (who had never been to a shoot). He's hooked for sure. He destroyed or lost a half dozen of my arrows.

As an example of the goodness of trad people, our camp neighbor took a liking to Ryan (my granddaughters boyfriend) and bought him a half dozen fletched Gold Tips!

When we left we stopped at Kaytee's restaurant and we ended up meeting Barry and Sue Wensel there. Great people! Also got introduced to Calvin Smock and several others.

Looking forward to next year! Got to get some sleep now.

Well, lets see. My wife who doesn't camp and thinks shooting bows and arrows is "boring" had us stay an extra day and leave ON our anniversary. She also spent all the money I made at the blanket swap and now has her own bow and arrows! That should tell you something! Lol! My older daughter asked to shoot more in three days than she did all year and my four year old got a fox tail to wear and wouldn't take it off all week! Met some amazing people and reconnected with some old friends. Saw some amazing acts of kindness and selflessness that restores your hope in humanity. We love ETAR!

One of the young competitors in the Eagle Eye shoot off.

Kids... one of the best thing about ETAR is the family atmosphere.

We don't miss many of them for all the reasons stated above.  Plus, we like to visit Wellsboro, the Pine Creek Gorge, any many other area attractions each year.

Robin Hood and he's never shot a bow before? Look out white tails.
Took me 30 years to get one.  Great photos, Thanks

Sorry, didn't intentionally mislead. What I meant was that he is a newbie. He shot one evening in my back yard before going to ETAR with us. It was his first "shoot".

Watching my best friend's 5 year old shooting his new recurve at the kids course, a dozen awesome D&M arrows, making new friends, talking with Sue Wensel for a good while(she's the nicest lady and her and my wife hit it off) and for me getting some time with Uncle Barry!
Got a pic with him which I'll load when the wife shows me how and is it me or is Katies the place to eat, can't wait till next year.
Now we're digging where the taters are.
