Thats a nice looking stave
I really like your mobile work station!

Pat B

Nice snaky stave there, Darin.   Is there a bow in the top piece you split off? Maybe a kids bow?

Thanks, Flem I built that a few years ago when I started having back trouble from being bent over working on bows. I raised my Vise up per advice of Eric Krewson and it help tremendously.  I also made it so I could raised one end and engage the wheels to move outside or clean under it.                                      Pat it's going to be close on another full size stave, I may be able to get one if I chase the ring from the inside verses outer diameter of tree will have to wait and see but can definitely get a shorter stave out of it.  I finally figured out pictures again after photobucket debacle and my computer crash.

Today, I eased into my 70th year on this earth. Hard to believe I'm 69 years old. Seems like just yesterday I was 68.  ...not that there is anything wrong with it.  ;)

Pat it is all a state of mind. I am in my 72nd year and don't feel much different to being in my fifties. Can still pull a 60# bow but why bother. Lol 40# gets an arrow there quick enough.

Happy Birthday Pat!
I like getting older, beats the alternative.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys. As with most of us "old timers" the inner kid is being held captive in the aging body. I'll take every birthday I can get from here on out but I can still gripe about the things that hurt and slow me down.  ;)
Bigbob, I have dropped down to 45#-50# instead of my normal 56#@26" but that is mostly due to not shooting as much as I used to. I still harvest, cut, split and stack 5 to 6 cords of hardwood firewood each year for our heat and a few months ago worked 172 hours in 3 weeks on an out of town construction job so I'm not ready to be sent to the glue factory yet. Probably wouldn't make good glue anyhow.
Just hard to believe that much water has gone under this old bridge.

There ain't been no water under that bridge in years.

170"!!!! We don't get that much in 10yrs!

Pat B

Flem, we've already had over 60" this year. Our area used to have the highest annual rainfall in the continental US next to the Olympic Peninsula. Looks like we are heading back towards that trend.

We had crazy extreme drought last year.  September all the ground cover above timberline was brown.  This year it's the opposite.  Loads of winter's snow still hanging on and lots of rain in the high country.  Builds up by about 1PM and rains until after dark.  I might be a half day hunter this year.  :)

In my little yabber I actually forgot my original intention which was to wish you a happy birthday. Must be my oldtimers dementia kicking in. Anyhow hope you had a great birthday.
