You need a softer wood to be able to force the nut down into the drilled hole.

Crooked Stic

Drill a bigger hole.

Yup Pat, Mike is pretty amazing, sometimes:)

Ya gotta leave it smaller so the edges of the nut have something to bite into.

Pat B

A little glue will help that, Roy.

Nah, then it wouldn't be authentic:)

Gonna go check out a connection on some Sheoak today...  If it pans out it should put me over the top and I should have enough wood to last me a very long time unless I start selling the stuff...

Roy from Pa

Lookie what Eric sent me....

Thanks Eric, it's sharp...

Nice one Eric! Elroy , if you put the pencil in the other way you could make a glass bow with big curves...;)

I glued up a 64" modified with a phenolic riser and black glass blank, have a twin to do next. Should be sharp !
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Skeaters been scarce lately. Building a new shed to replace the smaller one only to find out I have to pour a new pad too acuz the city thinks I need to have it 10' from the property line. So, not only learning how to build a shed, I am also learning how to dig for a pad, haul gravel for a pad, level a pad and soon, pour a pad and finish the surface. And then finish learning how to build a shed.

City life sucks.

No joke skeeter. That's why I don't live there.

Heck I built a 3-1/2 car garage. Took the county three years to find out and redo my property taxes.

If it makes ya feel better skeeter, I'm getting ready for a 10 x 20 shed by the pond..

But all it does is rain.
