Some of you remember that one of my students "guided" me right to my first NC gobbler for the year a couple weeks ago. Well, when she came to me last Thursday and said to get back on that knoll Saturday morning that she had been seeing "a real black one with a colorful head" the last two days, I listened. After nearly four hours of working the bird, I made good on my opportunity. I figured I would let the pics and video tell the story, the video should be on the Stickboys channel in a couple of weeks.

On to kayak fishing, and feeding my new obsession--building wood arrows.

In the second pic you can see the bird between trees. The last pic is nearly where I shot him from. He stayed in that 5ft area for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes of waiting, I opportunistically slid the side window down, and took the shot when presented. You can actually see the downed bird in the third pic, straight down the tree field road.

The bird only went 30 yards or so after impact.

Nice Bird!  Congrats!  You might consider this student for a Teacher Aide position . . . just saying.
