Looking good Cody  :)
I like leather grips and semi contour handle to answer your questions.  Doesn't matter on the shelf.
Life is too short to use marginal bow wood

Sorry to hear about everyone's problems, but I am glad to have company! Especially since all work for me is on hold while I'm away from home visiting family.
I still look at my underweight bow and wonder how short it would have to be to make weight :banghead:

I used to use one of those fine toothed mastic spreaders, when I was using EA-40. That stuff is so thick!
Now I use a chip brush with the bristles cut back. Less squeeze out, less waste. Epoxy's expensive!

I use a thin, narrow body putty plastic spreader or a thin piece of bow making glass.

Shoulder  is feeling better so I got a little work done today. Not sure I put in enough reflex . Tips are dead  even with  back of handle. Won't get another chance to work on it till next Thursday . Will get it on the tree then and start stretching it out. Will add more reflex later if it needs  it.

Your bow looks great, Steve. Looks like a self bow, bet it shoots smooth.

Making progress now. Got the limbs sanded to the profile of the bamboo tonight. Still a little wide but will come in handy with tillering. Picking up some maple from my brother to add some accent to my handle. After 4+ hours on the sander this week I'm ready to get a big boy bandsaw.   :biglaugh: Did find a knot that I thought I missed during glue up, turns out it runs at 45* angle and there's a little wiggle in the grain about mid limb on the opposite limb. Otherwise I'm still pretty confident.

Didn't happen wifout pichers.

Thanks for the help on the pic...getting finish on the bow...havent done a self bow in a good while, this one has a good amount of prop twist and is pushing length to draw ratio but it shoots well

kennym

I'm about ready to finish sand but had to go pick up a crane boom for work tomorrow. Victim has to wait another half day due to work...

When is that deadline again? LOL
Stay sharp, Kenny.
