Neat looking accent Kenny. You gotta put that pink somewhere 

Well no lightning strike, but a storm blew in.

Was at 24 inches and noticed a crack on the belly.

No knots around it either.

Back to square one, dammit.

The wood is darker there cause I wet it to show the crack better.

That stinks Roy. That bow was looking good.  Look on the bright side. Nobody was hurt by a lightning strike, and you get some more PT time on the tillering tree.

I'm at final sanding stage. Gonna try the wheel finish as it sounds better than poly and I'm not buying a sprayer and T-Bird yet. Can't see the other lams in pic but hit weight on the money. Thinking I should start over though since it ain't got no pink in er    although the cherry looks a little pink in the photo ....

Well I'm back to square one. Got it roughed out and cut some temp nocks. I was afraid it might be lite and it is, WAY LITE. It was a crap shoot, should not have used this one for experimentation. Oh well, I know a 13yr old kid who I made a self bow for about a year and half ago, that will be tickled to have it.

Too bad, Roy.  It's always a let down when that much work has gone into a project.

What if you wrapped it with gwass mat?  Would at least make a give away out of it.
