Is there a way to add weight to knock end of my Beman ICS hunters. I need to lighten spine alittle

Rock 'N Bow

Gold Tip makes 20gr nock adapters. Pull out your stock nock, glue in the adapter, then push the nock back in. But if you are trying to weaken spine, you would add weight to the point end.

I have 20 grain inserts glued in already. Wish I could remove them. So if i dont want over a 200 gr tip i was thinking of weakening spine by more nock end weight

You could pull the inserts which are hollow and fill with glue a lead shot. But I think you can buy inserts that you can screw weights into. They were available from Black Widow. Not sure if they would work for those shafts?

How do I get them out. I think there is a release agent to help soften the glue. Havnt found it yet though

fisherick

Drop a drill bit into the shaft and swing like a baseball bat, it will hammer the insert out. BE CAREFUL, BE SAFE.

To repeat what RocknBow posted, nock end weight does not weaken dynamic spine; it stiffens dynamic spine.

For next shafts you buy, you could get them a bit longer; even just an inch would weaken them some. Hope it helps

If you add weight to the actual nock end you will stiffen the spine. You will have to add point weight to weaken the shaft.

i agree- adding weight to the rear will stiffen dynamic spine, but as to your question, a vinyl crest wrap will add about 1gr per inch- and if the shafts are fletched- and you dont want to refletch- you can put the wrap ahead of the fletches- it will all help add mass to the rear- but remember  besides the obvious aesthetic issue, the further you get from the rear of the shaft the less of a mechanical advantage you have, considering the 0 point in your FOC being the fulcrum.

I guess i new that, just panicking....lol
I when and ordered weaker spined arrows

Rear weight can cause penetration issues as well.

Wait?what?  Adding weight to nock end will cause the arrow to act dynamically stiffer.  Add weight to point to weaken.
