I am about to do my first bow form and was wondering what kind of hose to use?   Any advice will be appreciated.  Thanks.

1 1/2" i.d. firehose is what's usually used. Bingham Projects sells it in lengths suitable for presses. I got some from them, and got a roll of it from the local fire dept. If a hose gets a hole in it, they replace them, but there's a lot of good hose there yet for bow presses.

Big Jim's Bow Co has it for .25 per foot I think, and maybe less shipping for you.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Thanks a lot.  I thought that is what it was but wasn't sure.  I am getting everything together so I can do my first bow like this.

Kennym I have a friend who can get me all the hose I need so I got that covered.  I will be ordering some plans from you soon.

not to be contrary, but i tried the fire hose route. it leaked everywhere- upon further inquiry i was told they were designed to leak to keep them wet and to retard burning.
maybe they have different qualities, i dunno.
but i do know that the bow companies sell actual air hose- which looks exactly like the fire hose  :goldtooth:

Big Jim has what you need hose and plugs, and good price.
