The Illusive Bobcat

Chances for them don't come around often. Apparently we have enough of them in our NW Iowa county to be included in the bobcat season. My son called one in with a deer call down in the Loess Hills and had to pass, no fur bearing permit. I have seen mountain lions around here, but only the tracks of a bobcat one time.

Nice bobcat. There are a lot here in Missouri, but I have only seen 3 and never during the season.

I see them now and again in the Manistee National Forest in Northern Michigan. They sometimes see me too. They appear to like squirrels for dinner near my stand.

Was quite pleased to see large kitty tracks in the snow this passed Monday.

Certainly am hopeful that I don't have to wait another thirty years for a shot opportunity.
