I'm having trouble finding a bow for my 11 year old boy.  I'd like to find a bow with replaceable limbs that he can change as he grows.  He's shooting 32lbs at 23-24" but wants to work up to 40 so he can hunt big game. I'm open to any ideas, a small ILF setup would be fine too.

Look at Stalker Stick bows- He has a "grow with your bow"

South does make a nice bow, I'll have to check out what he has.  I'd also entertain buying something used from a member who has something their kid(s) has outgrown.

My kids both have Maddog Pups - great youth bows!!!!  I also got my son a recurve from Black Rhino bows which has been fantastic.  They offer a trade up program for their bows as well - Topnotch service!

St. Joe River makes a nice kids bow,but I don't know if they do a trade up program.

Go to the black widow page and look at whatever version of 3 piece kids bow they are selling.  My kids shot intranature and matrix bows that I got from them for years.  They are cheap, durable, and reliable.

maybe a short ilf riser so he can move up in weight and keep the same riser?

I second the ILF idea.   Great way to grow with limbs.

I dont know how tall your boy is but the Samick Sage is as cheap as chips, 62" recurve, limbs jump up in 5 pound intervals and are also cheap as. I bought one years ago and it's never missed a beat. No tools required to remove/attach limbs either. They're all decked out with attachment screw points so you can screw on any bow quiver, sights, stabilisers or even take them bowfishing (mine's had a few ocean swims).

Did I mention they're $130 bucks? Great way to get a cheap bow to move through poundage on and then when he's ready for a really nice US made bow you could donate it to the kid down the road or keep it as a back up bow.

 You might consider a BLACK RHINO  bow Chuck Jones makes a great bow all sizes and weights . He also has a liberal trade in or trade up policy.

Black rhinos look good too, but their stock bows are too light to get the draw weight he's needing at 21". His short draw length is proving to be quite challenging.  They do make custom bows so maybe I'd need to look into that.

Anyone have an idea where I could find short ILF limbs that would reach 40 pounds at 21"?

At the age of 11, your son's abiity to draw, hold and shoot will increase exponentially for a few years if he shoots regularly.  Guessing that is why you are contemplating an ILF system.  JMO for the money...in transition you'd be better off with some of the recommendations given re: one piece builds by our sponsors that do kids bowz for a livin.
