Hi everyone I'm wondering what string materials you self bow / laminate board bowyers  use with draw weight of +60#

I've been using Dacron B50,  low stretch linen and a combination of both with some decent results

I use only B50 or B55 for selfbows and all wood lam bows but lots of guys use the different FF types of strings. I don't know much about them so dare not suggest any specific string material.

B 50 or 55.

60# isn't heavy -- I have several friends who are shooting nearly double that weight in their handmade wood-horn-sinew composite bows -- Turkish, Mongol and  Chinese replicas.

I use fast flight, 6 to 8 strings with padded loops and double served.  I use overlays on the tips.
Here's strengths of most common materials:
- B50  50#/strand
-Fast Flight 100#/strand
- D97 120#/ strand

You can see that even using B50 and a 60+ lb bow you don't need a ridiculous amount of strands.
Life is too short to use marginal bow wood
