That is interesting, and I will admit that I have never tried a fast flight string on the older Bear TD limbs. I was always respectful of the taboo regarding fast flight on non-fast-flight limbs. So the real difference is the string...

That being said, I am impressed by the newer limbs with modern bowstrings. And, pound for pound the newer Bear TD limbs seem to hold their own pretty well with the aftermarket limbs (Rose Oak, etc.) that I have owned and used.

Orion, I wouldn't doubt your testing.  I however would feel guilty as heck if I blew up a set of Graylings because I shot FF from them  :bigsmyl:.

I have a weatherest on mine and shooting full length fmj autumn orange 320's.  200 grain points plus 50 grain brass inserts. Shows a bit nock left and I wonder what's up?  I draw 30" so it should be about 55 lb. Maybe weak but I am surprised a bit.  I have to try some lighter points tomorrow.  Any thoughts?

Felix,

If you are as happy with your 2 le's as I am with my one, you may be about to bust!  Some guys say not worth it but I a really pleased.

I think that most owners are really happy with these bows.
I am one of them, I can't ask more.

Hey fellas,
Just purchased a new to me A riser and a brand new set of #1 57# red tip limbs. Bow shoots awesome. First Trad bow I've actually busted nocks with. It came with a, what I am assuming is a Flemish fast flight string. The only issue I'm having is the bow is very loud. It came with rubber cat whiskers and I added some bow hush to no avail. After some research I built a Flemish b50 string for it and it is much  quieter with no add ons. Has anyone else experienced this? Will I lose a ton of performance with the b50?  If I do shoot the b50 I'll make an endless bc my Flemish is not pretty by any means.

Also has anyone put a leather grip on theirs? I have just always like the feel of leather grips plus they don't get as cold when hunting.

I had a Supreme B that was very noisy. I spent about 5 minutes with brace height and made it quiet. The most dramatic BH sound affect I e encountered.

I did play with the brace some. Started at 8.25 which was maximum recommended. Varied it from 7.75 to 8.5 with no change in sound.

IME I found D-97 FF material noisy on my Bear B riser and Bear limbs. That was many moons ago now. These days I use BCY X strings made by Chad (LBR). I also dumped the Flemish twist for endless loop strings. I use one set of cat whiskers only.

Haven't posted on here in over six years....finally got my limited edition TD this week.   Love this bow.

Tater,

How does it shoot?  Sure is pretty and has exceptional grain in the riser.

Only put about a dozen arrows through her this weekend and she handled great.  Need to do some tuning to get her where I want her. Still trying to decide if I'm going to hunt with her....or let her be a closet queen. :biglaugh:

Has everyone had the same experience as gunner? Bcy-x they way to go?  I mad a Flemish d97 and it was just as loud as what came on it. Even with mountain muffler yarn from the yoke to 4.5" down it is still loud.

I had issues with noise with my 2017 takedown. Bcy x string wrapped with wool on the ends and Velcro on the string grooves made a world of difference.  :archer:

B-1805 with Rose Oak limbs, BH 8 ¼ ", B-50 string with BW spider silencers placed at the 1/3 and 1/4 distance from contact with limb.  It is very quiet.  [attachment=1]

Finally made a B50 I was happy with. Has a full set of mountain mufflers on it and man what a difference. Even quiet to the shooter now.

I thought really hard about one of the new LEs.  I had my Mountain Monarch on order so I held off.  I kinda had this thought that if I ever really did want something like it but not "official" I could just ask Jim to build me one.

Saw this on Sunday and it made me laugh pretty hard.  I love capitalism.
