I just got my first one the other day & I am falling in love with it quickly. I got a set of "Bigfoot" bows' longbow limbs for it also & am having a couple of issues with those limbs. I posted a seperate thread addressing these issues. If anybody from this thread could help with them, I'd greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, it looks like this thread now has another member following from here on out....  :goldtooth:

Most aftermarket limbs are very good, but since Bear reintroduced the TD the aftermarket limb makers have given up on making them. I had several pairs of Rose Oak limbs and they were excellent.

I don't know of anyone who has used longbow limbs for the Bear TD, and I will be curious to learn what you end up doing to tame them and get them to shoot well. I do know that Bear made some longbow limbs for the TD, and they were very unsuccessful. If I were you, I would not mess with the locator hole if the latches close. The fact that the fit is tight is not a bad thing.

I have a set of Border Archery Bear TD limbs and they are crazy fast -- the fastest aftermarket limbs I have seen. They have a post-shot hum that comes from the limb tips, but that noise is not objectionable. I may use this combo to hunt hogs in the spring.

Just bought a set of limbs to add to my collection, white tips #3 from the 90's at 50 pounds. Might be a tad heavy for me but you never know when you might go on an Elk hunt.

Hi all, I'm wondering

Well I really enjoyed caring mine around in WY for a week chasing Mule Deer. Bow shoots great and is perfect fit and finish.

Good to see a L.E. TD in the woods Chad!  My son has officially stolen mine to hunt with, so I'm excited to see it in action come October.

Don't look now, but there's a pretty sweet deal on a TD in the classifieds. I would be all over it but my accountant strongly encourages me to be a 1-bow kind of guy, and I don't have the energy to argue with her this close to bow season.

Closing in on 2019 and I'm still waiting on Bear to make my 2017 L.E. :-(

Mine arrived on  Wednesday this week.  #109 and 50#.  I will get pictures up later.  Let me say I was a bit worried I would be satisfied due to the cost. Buy that problem has gone away.  The bow is awesome!  No way to check speed but it moves an arrow for sure!

Well, I finally gave the newer, red-tip, fast-flight, Bear TD limbs a try. I am very impressed with the speed and smoothness. I guess the very narrow limb tips have something to do with the speed.

Those new limbs are "snappy".  Like the way they move an arrow.

Fortunate to own several TDs from Type 1 to the new LE. Presently hunting with the 40# LE and the performance is outstanding. Cosmetically this bow (#82) is second to none!

I've probably posted this before, maybe even earlier in this thread, but don't want to look through 45 pages to find it.

Anyway, there's been quite a bit of talk over the past few years about the newer red/black tip limbs being quite fast, with the implication or outright assertion that they're faster than the older Bear TD limbs.

Sure, the new limbs when shot with a low stretch string are faster than the older limbs when shot with B-50, but put that same low stretch string on the older limbs, and they shoot as fast as the newer limbs.  At least that's been my experience.

I compared three sets of #1 limbs, marked 50#@28 inches on a B riser.  Two sets were older, '80s era red tips, the third was the more recent red/black tips, made the past few years.  I shot all sets on the same Green stripe riser at the same brace height with the same 12 strand D-97 string padded to 16 in the loops and the same three Easton Axis arrows.

The two older sets of red tips were 1 fps and 2 fps faster than the newer red/black tips.  That's only one test.  I'd like to see others replicate it.

The newer limbs are thinner, side to side, but their curvature is identical to the older limbs, so there really hasn't been a design change.  Regardless, when fitted with the same string, I'm convinced the older and newer limbs shoot about the same, and both shoot plenty fast for me. I realize that not everyone wants to put a low-stretch string on older limbs, but I've been doing it for about 8 years now with no problems.  On top of that, the Bear TD just seems to be a very stable, forgiving bow.
