Nice little jointer. My Dad used to have a 4 inch one similar to that. I wish we still had it. Much safer to flatten bamboo on that rather than on the 10 inch.
Roy, is that a bow I see burning in that fire?  ;)

Ya Dave,  the one ya made me broke.

Put me a simple little arrow holder on the bow I just finished. Paper clip and a small piece of sticky back Velcro. Works great.

Bvas

That's pretty slick Dannon.

Not to complicate such a simple design, but many you could add a little bump out to make it easier to move with a gloved bow hand.

Bvas, I was thinking the same thing.

1.5 years and a baby girl later and I finally see light at the end of the tunnel for my workshop!

Shop looks good and can't wait to see how that bow turns out.

But how are you gonna shape the backside of the grip?

Ya gonna glue on another piece on the belly side?

monterey

Very sexy!

Just some mundane chores today.  I'm converting one of my rubber band forms to a topless hose form and doing a dry run at the same time.

The material in the form is for an ASL for my cousin.  This form builds a somewhat nontraditional ASL that has a lot of pyramid features to it.

Glue up this week.

Going to add about a 3/8" thick piece to the belly side Roy.  Going to net out about 3/4" more draw with no extra stress on the bow by doing it this way.  At least that's the plan....

Mike the form & bow look great just curious what mods are you doing to the form ? Ben that design looks awsome I thought about doing one like that with maple osage and sinew can't wait to here your report !

Having been rubber band form, the side bumpers were taller.  Taller than needed but with rubber bands there is no concern about interference with the hose.

Here's how it looked before.

I also knocked the softwood dowels out and replaced them with hardwood.

I get it ,easy mod ,I know you glue up at a lower presure then me but my wood pegs popped while it was in the oven, but I think curvier bows put compound pressures on the pegs ! sounds like a nice bow you got going !

Oh, something usually goes wrong.  But it'll be a bow.

I haven't made that perfect bow yet...

If we did a perfect one then we probably would have no more fun trying.  :)
