Hello everyone. It's been a while. Could I get some advice on high foc carbon arrow set up on my longbow? 47 lbs at 26". I'd like to shoot about 200 gr up front, 175gr Woodsmans + added wt. What shafts should I get from 3 Rivers Archery?

Hey Bona, can't help you with the arrows but it's good to see you around. It's been a while.

I shoot about the same draw length and poundage as you.  I shoot 29" axis .500 trads with 250 up front or 29" gt trad. 500's with 225 up front.  Both way about 530 grains.

I'd say that it depends on what arrow weight and length you are shooting for?  If you don't care, .500s and .600s could both probably tune with that setup.  Those carbons stiffen up fast as you shorten them.
Take care,

I don't care much about the length but I want them pretty heavy. So if I take off a half inch at a time, is that too much?

Is your draw length 26"? If you don't want a lot of arrow sticking out front, go with 600s. And don't cut more than 1/4" at a time.
We are all here because we are not all there.

Sounds good! Thank you all. Good to hear from you Pat!

Depends on how high of foc u want. Hard to get it way up there with a heavy shaft. My shafts are 7 gpi and I front load them with 325gr for a foc of around 29 % and a 550gr complete arrow. Just what I like to shoot. Believe beman makes a nano that's under 7gpi in a .500

I'm looking into the GT traditional classic XT 500s. The discription says they have stainless steel inserts but doesn't give their wt. Griz 3 blade at 200 and 50 gr wt.
