One of the best targets I've found is the Rhinehart Target Ball.  It is a small ball (obviously) made of Rhinehart Foam.  It is covered with green dots that make great spots to focus on and it will last a very long time.  The best part of this target is throwing it and shooting where it lands.  Believe me, this target can be flung a long ways if the archer is so inclined.  I must stress, however, that if this target is to be shot at when the foam is cold the arrows had better be on their mark or miss entirely, as a glancing blow can send arrows off into either the wild blue yonder or the twilight zone.

I have one of the Rinehart balls that I carry with me on trailer trips with my family.  Often I'm able to either find a place off by myself to set up camp on BLM or Forest Service land, or if I'm in a trailer park, can find somewhere close by that I can drive to and shoot a few shots.  I find that if I don't get at least a little practice almost every day, I can really tell the difference after a few days.

I got tired of losing scores in 3D shoots by have my arrows skip off the backs of animals, so I switched to these: http://www.lancasterarchery.com/tophat-apex-3d-screw-in-points-85-125-grain.html?cmp=cel&trigger=ac.  They cost a little more than the points I had been using, but I have noticeably fewer skip offs.

Had mine since 2015. Yes, arrows can ricochet off it, especially field points. Now days I use a BH and this target has absorbed 1000s of shots. Its a little tore up but I can get another year or two out of it.

Roy from PA I saw an arrow I refer to rocket off last night towards the Northeast please let me know if you find it.  It is a CX 250 heritage with chartreuse feathers. :biglaugh:
Cold weather is here, time to switch back to my "crossbow discharge" mini morrel bag.
Those points looks great Mcdave.  I wish they were made it 175.

Not at all what I was expecting this thread to be about... :dunno:

I jumped the gun on the local 3D range last February. If you don't skip an arrow off the target you break it trying to get it out!
