My 20yr old string serving jig has disappeared and I need to get a new one... was never really fond of that one anyway.  Recommendation for a good jig/where to buy?

Thanks!

Having used quite a few different ones over the years, I like my cajun servers just as much as anything i've used.  It will all depend on what you're accustomed to too..

They're typically less than $15

Avoid the little plastic one with three holes like the plague. Mine sucks! Drives me nuts.

There are others on the market but I also have the AAE.  It has worked great for me.

I use Bear Paw jigs. On the top end of price but they are really nice to work with.

Can't say enough good things about a Bear Paw server. Excellent tool.

Bear Paw is a good one, AAE and Cavalier are popular as well.  I like the Cajun serving tools...I have over 50, would buy more but the company won't talk to me.  Bjorn is supposed to make a really good one, but it's pricey.  I despise the ones that look like they are made from banding straps...flimsy junk IMO.  Think it's mainly what you get used to...I've use the Cajuns for over 20 years.  Still got my first ones.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!  Gives me a few options to look into.  Best of luck this fall!

Serve-Tite is a great jig, looks like the old one made by Bjorn, $13.30 at Kustom King.

I wanted a Bear Paw jig for a long time because I thought they were cool looking. I finally bought one and I just don't care for it. I think it's too heavy which makes it hard for me to rotate it around the string. I can make you a real deal on it, Ryan, if you're interested.

Following.  I have the plastic one with three holes.  Don't really care for it, hard to keep correct tension on the spool.  Either too tight, or loosens up and don't have any tension.

I have the Bear Paw and I have a Bieter and one other, the Beiter beats out the Bear Paw to me. I have three not counting the cheap red one and the Bear Paw isn't much better than the cheap one I bought as far as use goes in my opinion. That cheap red one just holds a spool of serving I use for nocking points some times for me, don't even try serving with it!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I like my Beiter heavy winder. I tried many different jigs over the years and always had trouble keeping the tension where I like it. To me the beiter is the best i have tried. But there not cheap
