Thanks guys, yes I still have two doe tags left and a regular season buck tag when that gets here. It's nice to get one down early but I never put too much pressure on myself I just enjoy being out there!

Well yesterday was uneventful, hunted morning and afternoon and closest encounter was something blowing in the thicket behind/down wind of me. Still beat work and glad to have gone. We'll try again Saturday.

Southern zone opener was quiet in my area-- still not too much movement or sign, heavy vegetation with the wet summer. Sat AM and PM and saw a trophy squirrel! More rain and warmer this week, then maybe a change for the better!

Only got out for a 1 1/2 hours last night but had a doe with fawn and button buck walk around under my stand for 5 mins before finally smelling me. Always fun to watch deer up close.Great to be out again... now if it would just quit raining I would get at it again.

With the exception of a red fox walking under my stand yesterday morning the opener was uneventful. Weather is way too warm and wet. Calling for more rain and warm temps this week.

Congratulations James!

I hunted all day Saturday and didn't see any which puts me to a whopping 0 deer seen in two full days of hunting :help: hopping this coming weekend turn's things around.

:clapper: Stone Knife doesn't ever use up much of his season filling his first tag when he's healthy. I've had does and fawns around me about every time out but I've only seen 1 buck so far and that didn't work out do to a branch I didn't think was in the way. I got my miss out of the way now...

Way to go James  :clapper:

I'm with huntryx. Weather here in my neck of the woods has been crazy. If it's not too warm, it's raining. Tomorrow it's going up to 77 degrees and Thursday is thunderstorms in the afternoon.  :banghead:

Too hot this am I didn't see a deer. Decided to clean up a couple of cards for my trail cam to put out later and this is what I found from last year. I had forgotten about this trail camera and it had caught the whole story of last years little buck. You never know whats going to show up on those cameras..even your own !  I hope I can get these pics to post with time stamps.[attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3][attachment=4][attachment=5]
