Just wanted to share what a great evening I had last night in Western Pennsylvania with not having much activity close to home which I live in a different unit now I decided to go back to my old drawing board where I grew up I knew were there was a great hardwood Oak Ridge and decided to take the day off and do some scouting upon arrival I noticed there were tons of White Oak acorns

#2
They were falling as I was standing there this place actually looked like a pig pen the deer had it tore up I found several rubs all around so I hung a camers and went back to next evening to check it and this guy among several does was on it I was thrilled to say the least since my normal areas really don't have much as far as decent mature bucks I decided to take a day off work and knew I needed to get a stand in here so on my way in in the morning I bumped a young buck that was in the area I wanted to hang the stand I knew this would be a good spot and decided to hunt it last night but never in my life have I chose to hang and hunt

I am sure glad I made the decision after getting settled in and all my stuff in order it was a beautiful night and I said to myself what a great first night to be in the tree next thing you know I look to my right and here comes a deer down the Trail I picked up my binoculars and knew it was the eight point I had on camera he came in like he was on a string and stop quartering away at 18 yards then the arrow was on its way after the shot it sounded like a car was coming down through the woods as he was crashing I knew he didn't make it far after getting down out of of the tree stand and looking at my arrow I knew I was in good shape I followed it approximately 50 yards and there he laid what a blessing it was I have to dedicate this deer to my 13 year old nephew that our family has just lost he loved hearing my stories and also hunting himself this one's for you Cody I felt like he was sitting beside me in the tree stand[attachment=1][attachment=2]
