I'm getting to like the 5 1/2" LW helical banana feathers more and more.stabilize a snuffer or hills hornet like a champ,and quiet.I'm using some on 2213 aluminums from my frankenbow.got some 60-65 cedars sporting some too.

I have always avoided this shape of fletch. It has always seemed to me that the height of the feather is a main contributor to stabilizing a broadhead and it should be as far back on the shaft as possible. Banana fletching would thus seem to act as it has been placed inches ahead of the ideal location. Not that I have tested it and certainly not professing this as fact, just postulating. On a plus side I do believe this cut to be the most rigid shape.

I've been shooting 5 1/2" and 5" bananas for 25 years. They have worked well. I prefer the look.  Some whine about being too noisy.  Like all feathers, if it noisy it's due to something else, not the cut.

I have a bunch of spruce arrows fletched up, some 5.5" shields and some with 5.5" bananas.  I'm really liking the nanners and will probably hunt with them this year.  They spin great and look great and I don't find them to be noisy at all

I started tinkering with banana fletch a couple of years ago and was enjoying them well enough, but started using the fletching as a 2nd anchor point, so I switched back to shield cut. The back of the shields just make it easier to know for sure where you are on the feather when it touches your nose. I think that the banana cut looks cooler though. Byron Ferguson prefers that cut over any other also, and he seems to get pretty good results with 'em....

My first set of woodies had banana cuts and they flew great. I have a bundle of them I should give them a go again..

I want to put some nanners on my arrows but cut a bit of the back of the fletch off...you get that cool profile, but a unique back edge!

 I cut some to 5" and made the like a shield cut.looked neat and flew good.I've seen some fletched with that feather cut.

some people say they are noisy, I havent heard deer complain.

Yes, they look cool especially big tall red ones in the bright sun light. I found to much helical can slow the arrow down. That's comparing them to parabolic feathers same bow, same fletch jig, etc. at 25 yards. A lower profile does help me get comparable flight with Parabolic fletch. As for noise, if I use my JoJan multi I don't have noise. I believe my Blitz's are set with more helical which I can hear especially with the higher profile. Agian your experience may vary. The shape your referring to with the back end trimmed can be had in the "little chopper". I have one as well along with many others.
