I found an arrow that had been lost for about four months. It was pretty faded, but I flexed it a number of times, and it seems all right.

I was wondering how much sun a carbon arrow can take?

Trenton G.

I've been shooting some that I lost at the range last year and then found this year. Haven't had a problem with them. No noise when flexing or anything.

If i loose one for more than a month or so i don't use it again.  Too much to chance, especially when hot, cold, rain, snow etc have had time to work their effects.  Just isn't worth the risk.

If they are lost I doubt they get much direct sun butI know nothing about carbon arrows. I have found lost POC arrows that the feathers had rotted away and the field point was almost rusted away and after a drying period, refinishing, fletching and adding a new point were as good as the day they were bought.

I know a few here have refurbished carbons they lost a year ago. After that I wouldn't bother. If your climate is anything like ours ground temps in the sun can get up pasted 150* this time of year. I know that as a fact, I put a thermometer by a glued up riser I had in our back yard.

Guess you have to ask yourself is ~$10 worth it?

I see what you guys are saying. I guess if it were out there any longer than it was I would definitely scrap it.
Are carbon arrows in the process of making them somehow involved with glues?
