Was up at Sumner last week. I didn't realize how dry it was this year. Ouch! Having said that I know where I'd be spending time... can you say the waterhole by the big oak?  Should be up that way around the first of Sept.  I'll try to come visit.

Charlie L, I am looking at putting some stands near water, 2 ponds on N place and the deer cross to get back to tree farm. Good chance they will swing by the ponds to drink on the way to bed or from . Tree farm where they bed has very little water on it and the 2 ponds they have are a ways South .

South farm has 4 ponds with water, so plenty of chances there for a stand. The pond Tracy hunted behind should be killer, also the one where you had the fall.

The one hidden one is very brushy but maybe north of it.  The one in the cedar patch wiould have to be hunted very carefully because of close bedding.

Problem is, the pond on North farm has a big oak loaded just W and one just SE  on other side of ditch.... Hmmmm

The cabin addition is due to a new grandbaby and daughter needing a bedroom near restroom. Half (12x24) will be a family room and the rest will be 2 bedrooms to be used by family only. Still a good addition for more hunter room!!

Yep, time is drawing near to set stands. I have 8 or 9 to put up on lease and several to reset and put up at bro's farm. Think we have 16 there....


If it doesn't rain, water is gonna be a big key to puzzle....

The little pond on the front of the north farm might need a closer look.

Yep, I have a stand there, just have to put it up.  Problem is, there is a loaded oak just west and another just southeast of the pond on opposite sides of the ditch....  50% chance and I will prob have it on the wrong side...  

Actually Charlie Lamb took a doe on the West side and Terry had the encounter with ol lucky over there, so I'm leaning West....

Come to think of it, I think Terry took a huge doe over there too.

I missed a really nice 8 point there. Of course I seen him 2 days straight before I decided to Gillie up and take my chances under an Osage tree.  I thought for sure I'd catch one on the noggin

Some years, a hedge ball would probably knock you out, but this year they are like tennis balls due to drought...
