For a DIY hog hunt,  which one of these places would be best?  (If you or anyone you know has hunted one or the other or both, for hogs) :archer2:

Fort Stewart is pretty good.....Hunter AAF is actually in the city limits of Savannah.  Ft Stewart is 19 miles long and 10 -12 miles wide... 250k acres...and it's pretty much loaded with pigs.  Look for water courses in the units you have a choice of and that should help you.  It's going to start getting pretty hot down there...so make sure you have a cooler with lots of ice!

Was at fort stewart last month.  My buddy got one and I missssed one.  Not a walk in the park 1 year I hunted 3 days and never saw a pig.

Thanks for the input guys...........Ray,  this isn't for the immediate future,  I was thinking more toward late fall early winter......after archery deer here in N.E.
Though obviously processing/meat preservation might be the biggest obstacle I'm guessing.......butcher or quarter them up fast and get them on ice for the ride home?   Have to hash out all those details..........
Terry,  what section did you hunt?  I've read "F" is the most hog thick......but looking at maps,  there are MANY others that include water as well that look real inviting...............

I've hunted Stewart several times and it can be really good. I would say for public land it's as good as I've hunted. Study the rules; they're serious about them. Skeeters can be bad at times. And it is THE snakiest place I've ever been. No joke, don't hunt there without snakeboots. But it is a beautiful place to hunt.
