What woods are in your riser? Guessing the middle wood is maple, but I can't quite tell what the outer wood is (kind of looks like padauk?).

Otherwise, looking good so far! [emoji106]

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

Core wood is curly maple.

Darker wood is Jatoba, a Brazilian Cherry.

Thanks Ty.

I think they will look good together too..

The two yew billets Canopyboy sent me, "are the most awesome", cleanest, knot free, yew billets I have ever seen. ANYWHERE!

I've had them for about a year now, and have had yew billets from Fujimo for about 5 years now.

I am excited about building this bow....

Well finally got the bow tillered.

Looks pretty sweet.

Had trouble blending in the end of the riser, the wood kept flaking off when it got thin.

Then discovered the end of the riser glue joint was loose.

Think I used a soft maple instead of a hard maple. DUH dammit!

So I removed the riser with a putty knife and gotta glue on another one, and it's gonna be Osage this time....

See Johnny, you are not the only one who screws up..
