But first of all, there was a glass bow guy in my shop today, building a wood bow.

This is TradBowyer, prepping his hickory, walnut, hickory bow.

Then I started my yew, yew, boo r/d.

Canopyboy, Dave, gifted me a pair of awesome yew billets.

And fujimo gifted me more yew billets.

#1
The yew core lams on the right in the above picture, with the knot holes.

That is nothing to worry about. They are filled with smooth on now, and will be sandwiched between the boo backing and the  belly lam, in the center of the grip, inside a 13 inch riser....

Looking pretty good. And a better class of beer to boot, things  are looking up for ya Roy.  :clapper:
Life is to short to pass up anything that could potentially be bow wood!

Thanks John..

Only problem is, that beer is $33.00 a case..

I buy it every now and then..

$33.00 a case!!! To rich for my blood. Ill just wait for the fruit to get ripe, few bucks for some yeast and sugar, the sky wont be  the only thing lit up on the fourth round here.  I'm speaking of wine, perfectly legal.

Nice Roy.  Did you go thicker on the Yew than you normally would do for osage?  Supposedly a great bow wood, I never worked with it.   Don't see many yew trees in the swamp....lol
And I don't know about that Shandy.  It  rhymes with panty and it has lemonade in it???  I rather my beer taste like beer....
Life is too short to use marginal bow wood

Roy from Pa

No, I made the belly 1/4" like the osage..

Might make this bow a tad wider than 1.25...

How bout sending me a 6 pack of yer beer so I can test it?  :wavey:

BMorv

I would do that, but I would be too scared you would dump it down the drain.  None of my beers have the word light behind them...pale ales, IPA's, stouts, German style, I like them all as long as they don't taste like water or lemonade  :biglaugh:

BMorv

Yeah you might as well put me on there....I figured it was only a matter of time...lol

LOL..

Well you are # 2 on the list.

A certain ole guy from Linneus , Mo. has had the top spot for a long time...

Order glass?
Ya right... LOL

Bvas

Starting another bow already??

Did I miss the finished pics of the BWO bow?

Is there such a thing as 'list seniority', if so, I think I've been on it longer than any of you greenhorns. Roy, I think it's high time we get this butt-whoopin' behind us. Let's meet at a neutral site, halfway.... say.... Saw Sales in Gibsonia?  :smileystooges:  :deadhorse:
