Head Ski era Red Wing Hunter bow (1968+/-, 47#), vintage 1960 Mowoc Dot broadhead, Douglas fir shafts.

10/22/2017 on my home property in the Town of Fenton, NY.  Presented a nice standing broadside I just couldn't pass up.

Yes.  I consider myself truly blessed to be living year-round in our little log home "hunting cabin" in the woods.  We only have 20 acres but it is well placed.  Long and narrow and nestled in a 5 mile by 8 mile wooded hill with no roads through the middle.

I walk 250 yards to my treestand.

Was hoping for an eight-point I've been watching but have not seen him since bow season opened . . . of course.

These two guys were in my neighbor's yard (taken with my phone on the way to work) and the guy in back had been on my game camera once.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Update - but not bow related.

Yesterday afternoon the 8-pt buck on the left walked to within 15 paces of my ground blind and he's on the meatpole.  Rather it had been with the bow - but who's complaining?
