Hello the gang ... some news from the far EAST ...

down there in the french south alps i loose recently the bowhunting territory i was sharing with others people .... but cos i'm a nice & gentle  boy i still have many hunters  friends ...

One of them , thank again to him ,  took me out hunting  on his place last WE , i put a tree stand in a area where he told me there was the limit of territory of 2 monsters  roe deer

one month ago already i went there looking for signs of roe deer activity and choosing a place to stay

FInaly when last fryday afternoon i climb to my stand I saw nothing exept 3 wilds boars travelling somewhere and up to september its not legal to shot one ...

just before the night i tryed to reproduce the call of a  young and affraid roe deer with a special little APPEAU, we are at the very just beginning of the roe deer rut, just like a small repetition ...

one of the old guy of the place decided to come to see what or who was disturbing his place

it was a really big one trophee roe deer no way to try to picture him ... but just to be focus an get ready ...

i was lucky to get a shot ... not very confident about the angle i came back early the next morning ...

Signs were good ...

the arrow was full of good red blood

crossing the dust road , still more blood but a fox sign too ... ouch not good not good ...

more blood ... suddenly y hear something running ... i look up and finaly i saw my roe deer on the ground ...

he was stone dead, was i just heard running on the dry leaves was probably the fox who had eaten a part of the back leg where the arrow get out and one of the ears too ...

Very nice moment and very first hunting shot with this old but "new  to me " Bear TD with his B50 string ... a very very very good bow, not quick but so quiet and easy to shoot to ...  very happy with this old bow

One thousand thanks to my friend and thank you to papa Bear to

i wish the same luck to all !

Awesome! What a monster. Thats the biggest roe deer buck (antler-wise) i have seen for a long long time, and to do that with a trad bow....simply outstanding!

Very cool, congratulations!!! That fella really has some mass and character in its rack.
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.
