Man I've bought dimensional lumber that wasn't this pretty. Ill do my best to do it justice. No idea why that camera takes orange pics sometimes? Its 65 inches of hickory so I see one sweet deer getter in this one. Or maybe a vampire killer, it is from Transylvania after all. lol

You are welcome, John. I got tired watching you struggling with those red oak boards. Now we'll see if you are a bowyer or not.      
Go easy removing the bark. I didn't try but it's libel to be stuck real good. Under the bark is a reddish brown cambium layer and under that is the back of your bow. Don't try to chase a ring. Remove the bark and scrape the cambium until you see bright white hickory. You don't have to take all the cambium off. With the sinuous back of the hickory you can get a nice camo effect with the cambium in the valleys and the white hickory on the ridges.

As far as that red oak goes, now that ive been working this hickory board don't think ill ever want red oak again. I knew you guys would spoil me sooner or later. Can only imagine what will happen if I get some Osage.

I hope it goes well.  I was also getting tired of you putting all of that effort into those red oak boards.  I think you picked up on tillering quite  well, and you should make a nice bow out of that stave if you give it the same attention to details.  
Pat's obviously a good dude.  Roy too if you can stand a some abuse, LOL.

Cool!  You'll probably do better with that than I did with the one that mwosborn sent me.  I took too much off in the floor tillering stage &, by the time I got it even, it was only about 30#.

Pat sent me my first stave years ago. I was tillering it and broke it getting in a rush. So go slow and if you think you are going slow, SLOW DOWN.
