Hey man.. Sometimes you can work hard....or you can work smart.
You appear to be a smart one.

..there's more fun in hunting with the handicap of the bow than there is in hunting with the sureness of the gun.~ F.Bear

The older I get the more I try to work smart and take care of my body.

That's pretty cool, Clint. Looking forward to seeing some nice scrub-buster osage in a few months. I have some hill cane for you.

I have an osage log loader, unfortunately I didn't have it for the 18 or so years I was seriously cutting osage.

This is the last tree I cut 2 years ago and probably the last osage tree I will ever cut. I have gotten too old to do what I once did.

Yeah...  That's what they all say...  :)

Threw some salt on sidewalks and deck, danged ice!!

Glued up a bow blank, took another out of a different form and tillered and cut sight window in on it and packed up to ship....

Then worked on my (victim's)trade bow a bit.....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Since I was waiting for some epoxy to dry on my victims bow I decided to tinker with the first set of limbs I made that were a bust. I shortened them by an inch and worked on the tiller. It's still a bit off but I will get to that eventually.

But I also figured I could start on a practice riser to get the feel for making the shape I want since this is the first take down I have made. I am not totally displeased with where it's at but I have lots of work left to do so there are plenty of opportunities for learning experiences   :dunno:

I also shot it a few times. 518 gr arrow at 25 lbs. got a blazing 124 fps.

Ya might wanna try a little lighter arrow.
Or a little heavier bow. Lol

Got the rough shaping done today. Next up...some string grooves so I can see how she pulls.
