Hello fellow boywers,

Winter is in full swing up north and my smile from shooting my bows is fading with each day...

Aside from having cold hands ruining my shots, Are there any big issues with working a trad longbow in cold temperatures.

I get the water from snow would damage the wood, I'm wondering about simply the cold temperature and perhaps the dry air's effect on my longbows.

Any comments or advice are welcome

Are you shooting Wood or Glass.?
All I know is that hot weather can make a wood bow sluggish and cold weather makes it brittle.  Seal the bow with your favorite finish and lots of it, if that helps.

Shooting wood, and interesting..
I always use a full can of varathane spray to seal  my bows.

Never had a problem here in Northern MN.  Killed a deer once when it was -23 degrees.  Known plenty of other guys hunting in December around here with stick bows.  Heat can be a problem, cold temps do not seem to be.
