I made this side stalker style quiver for my PA Christmas Trade recipient. It is hand stitched with an adjustable shoulder strap and I added a Russel Green River knife I got from Crazy Crow and added osage handle scales. The knife sheath is mounted to the side of the quiver. The wood end plug is tapered and fitted into the quiver from the inside. It is removable for cleaning and to replace the foam arrowhead holder when needed. I copied a pictograph from the internet, glued it to the end plug and varnished it to seal. Here are a few pics...

Wayne, the quiver is made from 9oz oak(vegetable) tanned leather and I died it with Feibings Leather dye and a dry sponge so it only hits the high spots. I went over and over until I got it like I wanted it. Then worked in a good coat of Montana Pitch Blend for protection.

The Green River blades are a really nice blade to work with to make up your own knives.  It's not true knife making, since the blade is already done but they make a fun project.

most bowyers have a lot of good handle material laying around.

The Green River knife blanks are nice. I've done a few different styles over the years and they are very reasonably priced. It's not knife making but a good option for a good, inexpensive knife.

Is that your preferred style of hunting quiver?  Do you place the arrows in from the top opening or the big opening on the side?  
I've been wanting to make one but couldn't decide on the which style, so I ended up moving on to another project.

I really like that. The knife is a nice touch too. I have a big piece of leather waiting to become a side stalker. I just need the time to sit down and build it.

Benton, the arrows go in from the rear end  and pressed into the foam for safety and protect the point but while stalking you can remove the arrow from the quiver along the top with minimal movement.
I use this style quiver for everyday shooting and 3-D. I prefer a GFA style side quiver for hunting because it is a lot quieter and holds the arrows solidly. I made my GFA style with my old Selway bow quiver I stopped using. I mounted the hood and arrow grip to a small plank with a shoulder strap.

The GFA style seems pretty easy to put together if you have an old bow quiver laying around.  But it wouldn't look near as good as your side stalker.

I wish there was a more natural material that would work as well as the plastic or rubber arrow grips.

This is my GFA. I added snake skin to the wood slat and the cloth around the slat is a fletch cover in case of bad weather or to keep fletching from flagging.
