I got some of the high density camo from Rosewood shop for this project. I think it would be ok without the G-!0 beam but went ahead and put one in anyway. It ends up being .090 when sanded for the glue and sounds like iron if you drop it on the floor.   :D  I think I have done about a half a dozen of these and they are getting easier.

Good job Mr. Mike I always enjoy your posts.  How are you liking the high density wood?  Looks really good.

Crooked Stic

It does not have the smell like the old dymondwood.Just as dense. It has a we bit more character in the grain. The panels are 26 in. My risers are 13-16-17 and 18 in. So on the longer ones I will have knife slab wood left over.

I love that stuff. I really like how it looks in limbs

Looks nice! How do you decide which way you cut it?

Crooked Stic

What you have to do is sort of shape the grip to the size it needs to be then relieve material off of that to allow for the fiberglass wrap. You need at least a 1 in. pilot at the bottom of the tenon  on the belly side to keep things stable. so if you cut it the other way it would not work. Maybe you can see in this pic what I am talking about.

I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

Got the finish on this one. Base coated with auto urethane and top coats with waterborne CV by general finishes. Enduro. Looks like watered down milk but cures clear as can be. And about as tough as anything out there. The reason I know it is tough is I had to sand one down for a oops    :( .
