What wood is that in the riser?
That sucks...were you hurt?

The riser is shedua, no didn't get hit by anything

Mad Max

Bummer
what kind of wood in the butt wedge?
did you get a feathered end on the wedge?

I used shedua for the wedge as well and had it paper thin, I can't figure out what went wrong with it the only thing that i have been doing different is I started shooting the fixed crawl about a month ago to help my groups but I wouldn't think that would cause it

I just had one blow and my thinking is that the oil from my hands during glue-up caused it to blow.

James, I wear vinyl gloves during glue ups. I usually go thru 4 sets during a glue up. The vinyl gloves are a loose fit  but still work well for me.. Try to find and use powder free gloves.. I also run a air conditioner when it's hot, drops of sweat could also be a problem.

Peanut, sorry for your blow up. I have used Shedua for 2 one piece risers, so far no problems.

Do you have pics of it bending at full draw??

Pat B

The fade area has more stress on it than any other area. If that area was bending too much those stresses could have caused the break.

Never took no pics of it unti now so that could be what it was I can't remember what it looked like when checking it at full draw on the tree

X's 2 on what Pat said. Glass bows don't normally let go in that area.
