Had the last follow up visit with the orthopedic sergon this morning. It's been 4.5 months since the shoulder surgery. Told her I was going to a 4 day weekend trad shoot the second weekend of July and asked her if I could shoot then, because that would be 5.5 months. She said Yes.. She told from the beginning that it would be 4 to 6 months before I could shoot. So one more month and I'll be back in the saddle. I haven't been able to pull a bow since last September.
I'm excited.....

Cool. Good for you bud. It'd probably be best to start with a girly weight bow until ya... oh yeah... I forgot who I was talkin' to there for a second... nevermind

PEARL DRUMS

He ended with girly weight bows, may as well start with SUPER girly weight bows. I know he can draw 12 oz., probably a good starting point  :)

You younger guys talk pretty smart now, but wait 'til you add a couple more decades of wear and tear to your shoulders (and elsewhere).   There may be a girly bow in your future, too.
Like the ones I shoot.   :D      :p

Go get 'em at the shoot, Roy.

Younger guys? Ha. I'm older than dirt. My shoulders have taken me to dark, sadistic places. Some mornings, I couldn't hit the alarm button if my life depended on it, or right myself in bed because my shoulders hurt so bad my upper body was incapacitated, and at the sound of the alarm I literally slid like a snake onto the floor onto my knees or butt so I could stand with just my legs/lower body... then reach DOWN to the alarm clock... and saw it like an accomplishment :^) Couldn't put on a shirt or brush my teeth without involuntarily yelling out in pain, and I'm generally a hurt-tolerant sumbeach... or sleep beyond an hour or so through the night without them bringing me fully awake in a real bad way. That went on every night for a long, lonnnnggggg time, and that was just the tip of my iceberg. I won't bore ya with the rest of it. It was what it was, dealt with it, now it's gone, but it was MY hurdle. I had to start over again with kids bows and now, 5 years later, I'm closing in on 70 lbs again. Git er done Roy. Take your time, be smart about it. But work at it.

I'm 62, but, who knows, maybe I'm one of the younger guys on here.

62! your only a whipper snapper. Now Roy though, think I remember seeing him posing with Fred and Wilma flintstone! Seriously though Roy, hope you mend quick and can get back to bending those drinking straws you use for a bow these days.   :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:

Thanks guys.. I'm going to shoot a girly bow to start..   :)  I'll be shooting my wife's 29 pound bear takedown.

Mark, the shoot is at Pine Hill Sportsman. That's in central Pa near the town of Kennerdell, Pa. Our favorite shoot to attend.
