I just finished up this vine maple bow.  It's just under 63" long and 45 lbs @ 25".  The skins are broad banded water snakes.  The tip overlays are big horn sheep.  The bow has some humps and bumps.  The reflex isn't even.  The top limb deflexes out of the fade and then reflexes in the outer third.  I think it makes the full draw look a little funky.  The bottom limb has a little bit of twist to it.  I made this for a target bow for myself.  It's been more than 2.5 years since I made a bow to keep.

That full draw looks fine.  Really like those skins.

That is one terrific looking bow!
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

Very nice bow Clint. The snake skin is very cool too.

I've got an old stave of vine maple I need to do something with, this just inspired me to get started. Hard to believe it ended up that white!

BTW, does vine maple like dry heat or steam better?

Thanks guys.

Canopyboy, I used dry heat for all of the corrections on it.  It didn't seem to hold reflex as good as osage does.
