Guys,
I have quite a bit of American chestnut wood and was wondering if it had a place in bow making.
I am think that limbs would be out of the question because of the holes, but could it be used for risers?

You could fill the worm holes with a Titebond/sawdust filler,and the wood would be fine under glass.

How large of pieces do you have?  Is it old wood from a house or barn?  Or new saplings?  I'd love to get my hands on a couple of slices 5-6" wide x 30" long x 1/8" thick, to make a mountain dulcimer from.

Under glass probably but not for selfbows.
