Hi guys,
finally got some time to work on my homemade drum sander. All that's left to do is to make spring loaded rollers and dust extraction. Hope to have it finished by the end of weekend, so I can start grinding some lams.
Here is short video  https://youtu.be/JJtO9DNNG4Q

Hope you get well soon Roy.

Thanks Roy, it took a lot longer to make than expected, but I think it will be worth it. It can sand 16" wide and up to 5" thick. It has 1100w 220v motor and the belt has adjustable speed control from zero to 4' per minute and is mounted on 4 threaded shafts so it can be finely adjusted in 0,002" increments.
Here is photo of it almost completed.

Cool sander, kristalik !!

Can you use a drill with a socket to speed the raising of table when you need to go several inches?

Sore and tight, but a little better every day. It's only been 9 days since the surgery. Seen the doctor yesterday, she said about 4 months till I can shoot a bow. Start PT next week.

BenBow

Well Roy can you still build bows? Hope so so you have something to release all that pent up orneryness!!!!!!! Or are the pain drugs keeping you civil if so I'm staying out of your way when they wear off.

Hi Kenny, yes I tried it and thanks god it works well, if it wasn't I would have to do 17 turns of the knob per inch      and it has quite a bit of resistance.

Roy from Pa

Nope Ben, can't even raise the arm up and out to my side till 4 weeks. Then it will be a little at a time after the 4 weeks. Being old and the tendon that tore is the tendon that raises the arm up I guess. So I need to be very careful not to tear it loose again. Been off the pain meds for a few days now. Them and I don't get along well..

kennym

I didn't do well with the pain drugs either, gave me some weird dreams!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Can only raise one arm?  Must be tough to have to down those Lights one at a time!
