Well I had the third phone call today from Boggs. The lady was nice and apologized. We exchanged email addys so we can get through this tracking thing. The wrong package is due here Monday and MY Rasps are due here Tuesday... Was just a little mistake on her part, ya know how women are!   :)

So I'll be working on this bow come Tuesday night I suppose. SO get off my butt Squeak-ah-boy.. You are bad as Canopy-girl..   :)

Zradix

Thanks Roy your rasps arrived today (at my house as I requested). I've been rasping on my Rat Rod frame. They are getting dull, do you want me to forward them on or send them back for sharpening.

Please reply!!!!!!

Got a little work done on the tri lam. It's braced to about 2 inches in this picture and video. Notice the pull rope staying on the line in the photo at 11 inches.

But in the video below, as I was working it down to 12, then 13 inches, it's starting to drift about 1/8th" to the right of the line. That means the top limb to the right is stiffer than the bottom limb and needs some wood removed. I'll not pull any farther than 13" till I get the pull rope towing the line again. Won't take but a few scrapes with a scraper to get it back on track. Notice how still the bow is sitting in the cradle as I pull it. Means it's balanced pretty darn well.

How was it again Roy? What is the distance between the lines and how far above the bows center are you pulling?

Roy from Pa

3/4" above center of bow for three under tillering on this bow, which has a 3/4" shorter bottom limb. You just need to figure where the center of your middle finger will be on the string when you shoot the bow and place the pull rope there.

Got it to 28" last night, 43# there. It will lose a couple pounds with final sanding and shooting in. I was shooting for 40#.

Nicely done Roy! How well would black walnut work for a belly. May try another tri lam after the multiple failures I've had recently with these
