I got a lot of help from a bunch of the guys on here on this(my first bow), so I thought I'd show some pictures. It's 68" long, #60 @ 29", from a juniper I cut last year near the Colorado, New Mexico boarder.

So that last pic, the full draw one on top of some rocks, simply AWESOME!  Oh, the bow looks great too!  Feels good to make one and it survives doesn't it?!

John, nope, there's no backing... it was a suggested to me, but I was hoping that with it being 68" long, the tension on the back would be okay. So far so good, it's had over a thousand arrows through it, although it has taken almost 4" of string follow.

Congrats on a unbacked juniper....your in rare company .

Juniper makes a great shorty, sinew backed bow. I've not made one yet but I do have a juniper stave I got from Keenan a few yours ago that will be a future project.
