Hi everyone,
I finally joined this forum after being a long time lurker. I have bee a member of primitive archer for a few years but always hit this sight too during my "rounds".
I mainly build selfbows but have done some laminates too.
Here is my latest bow. Its a trade I and a friend are doing on PA. Its a three piece take-down with hickory backed ipe limbs and a black walnut core with paduk wedges. The riser is bacote with paduk and hickory accents. 48#@28" 65"ntn. the limbs are about 1 1/8" wide tapering to 1/2" nocks. the back is dyed with RIT dye. I think its my favorite bow so far, shoots very fast with zero handshock and almost no sound.Gotta love that ipe!             Finish is multiple coats of satin spray helsmans spar urethane and wax over that. I posted it here because I dont think he goes on here and I want to surprise him!

 Thanks for looking,  Cody

Wow that's nice!  I thought for sure it was a glass bow until I read your description.  I admire you guys that can make a bow look like that with all natural materials.

Hi Cody.  It's me!  Your friend who you are trading with.  I do come here.  I know my handle says "John Scifres" but that's just my TradGang name.  I've also moved.  I'll PM you my new address so you can send me my new bow.  Thanks. It's beautiful.  Can't wait to shoot it!

Wow!  Outstanding work on a beautiful bow.  Don't listen to John Scifres.  Send that sweet bow to me!    :)
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
