I.`ll post a few pics showing how I made this bow form.I told a computer guy what I wanted and he made a drawing on a computer (don`t ask me how) Then a steel template was cut out with a computer guided laser cutter, I then had a very accurate template. On my router table which have a 30mm spindle I have two options, a large straight router bit or a solid aluminum drum with 40 grit paper. Both have the same diameter as a template bearing. I think the pics speak for them self, but if something is not clear fire away. Bue--.

The ultimate template...3/8" steel!

Buemaker

Almost right, 8mm which was a serious overkill, 1/4" would have been enough. Bue--.

Yep ,  there is something to be said about accurate templates and jigs..  :D

I don't know what's more impressive, your template, the form itself, or your shop! Great stuff.

Impressive!! Now you got me thinking, I sub contract a lot of work from a machine shop and I know they have several Cnc machines. I'm thinking I could work up a trade!!!

It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

well done! I did the same thing, but had the CNC guy to it all for me!  I don't have a template to make more forms, but he has it saved so he can cut some more forms in the future if needed.
