Here are a few pictures of a bow I just finished up.
64 long. 44#@28. Mild reflex/deflex.
0.030 bear glass. Black palm on the back, walnut tapers 0.002",zebrano on the belly. Ebony/bubinga riser with ash and black palm accents. Horn and cocobolo nocks and also cocobolo on the back of the handle.
It shoots really nice, fast and dead in the hand.

Still not happy with the finshes and methods i'm using at the moment.
I'm using a cheapo gun in a dusty workshop at the moment....Soon i'll have a dedicated spray booth that I can keep warm and dust free!!
I'd appreciate any advice on durable finishes that you guys have used and like.

Very nice. You say that you are useing Bear glass, do you mean the Swedish glass from Bjørn Bengtson. I still have some of that, but I thought they had stopped producing it. Anyway that glass was absolutely clear and I think the best that was ever made. Bue--.

The finish is Rustins Plastic Coat.
The glass I used is from Flybow in Ireland. I may well be mistaken on who makes it. I've had one totally clear strip out of the batch I got from them...I won't be using it again. The streaks in clear glass are really annoying aren't they?!
What is the consensus of opinion on which is the best clear glass? Gordon's?

Good lookin bow! I agree about the glass issue! The one I just glued up the other day has a LoT of streaks! I think it shows more on dark woods. Sucks! It sure can take away from a an otherwise beautiful bow. Anyway, yours looks great!!  

That is one sweet bow, for sure! It even has the shelf on the "right" side!

Nice bow! That palm veneer looks nice and interesting.
I Use BearPaw glass since I started bow building, clear glass has a lot of streaks, but it does not influence bow performance and behavior, it seems that only aesthetically looks bad. Never tried Gordon's, but I will in the future.

Very cool bow .,awesome veneers, but what I really am interested in is the form you are building for that asiatic bow  the one your glass bow is laying on

Ha Fujimo - you spotted it! I'm just waiting on a new router cutter coming and then i'll have that form done. That particular form is for a Turkish style bow. I've made quite a few true horn/sinew composites and thought I may as well have a go in glass.....at least I won't have to wait a year for it to season!
