Questions is what type of glue do you all use when making a splice with your veneers?  I know  you glue in block form first then cut and grind veneers.  So what is the preferred glue to glue your woods together?

for the little i have done, i have used smooth on, but also used urac- when splicing darker woods!

do you use superglue when doing the different  wood, decorative splices James?

As I do it in block form as Wayne suggests I also use smooth on.Then I
slice it to size later.

I have used both smooth on and CA glue. I have had white lines show up using the CA so I only use the smooth on now.

I've used super glue before and actually cut/spliced the thin veneers. I put masking tape around the veneer where the cut was to be made to prevent splintering and cut them with my scroll saw fine tooth blade. Filed and sanded them so they fit real tight then glued the edges together. Held them together on wax paper for a few moments. Carefully sanded any surface glue off and they were ready to go. Straight angles are easy but anything is possible. These are all limb splices under the overlays.(Isn't the internet wonderful? ask a simple question and get a hundred different answers!)
