Please tell me what you think of the tillering, now that I see it in the pic's it looks stiff in the handle area to me but I really don't know.

thanks Burt

What is your current draw and weight.  I would say that the outer 1/3 of the limbs are doing most of the work.

I draw to 28inch and it is 40lbs @ 28 how do I correct that? take more off mid limb to riser? the bow is 70in so I can shorten it to gain weight.Oak backed with linen.Burt

Take off a little where I have it marked as being flat. Go slow, remove some wood then work the bow at least 20 times after each wood removal session. And always round off any square edges before working the bow. But it doesn't look bad over all.

Congrats on your bow       Getting those inner limbs working a bit more will take some of the stress off the outers.  Do you have a Gizmo for tillering?  That little block of wood and pencil helps you get your limbs to a more even arc.
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
